Personal Training

What is the Full Fitness Assessment?
A consultation appointment is made first, this is where you sit down in a relaxed atmosphere to discuss your needs, therefore creating a Client Personal Profile, this will find out your current/past activity levels, what leisure pursuits you like, what training modes you prefer, what equipment you like or dislike, eating, smoking, drinking habits and anything else that may be relevant.
Within the consultation process Confidential Screening and CHD (Coronary Heart Disease) profiles are used, these help me ensure that training is appropriate at this time, as your safety is the number one priority; if anything is flagged up you may be temporarily deferred, so advice can be obtained from your doctor, before proceeding with your exercise prescription.
Next I use a series of passive and static tests to establish your base line of fitness; they will provide a benchmark for success and show personal improvements. They also provide the following:
- A baseline for your exercise prescription and program design
- Safer and more effective exercise prescription
- Enable realistic goals to be set
- Provides a benchmark for comparison and re-assessment
- Assists in program evaluation and monitoring progress
- Helps motivate and educate
- Provides a professional service
- Meets health and safety requirements
